MSc IN GENETIC COUNSELLING
The MSc programme in Genetic Counselling is designed to provide cutting edge training in genetics while fostering a strong foundation in counselling. Accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, this programme is the first in Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa.
MPhil MEDICAL MOLECULAR GENETICS
The overall objectives of the programme are to:
- Train a new cadre of biomedical scientists to gain competencies to conduct research and to perform diagnostic testing in molecular genetics
- Train students to obtain knowledge, and the understanding of medical molecular genetics informed by research in genomics and to develop intellectual, practical and transferable skills in medical molecular genetics
- Train healthcare professionals to adopt genetic technologies and to increase the use of genetic information as part of diagnosis and treatment.
- Train students to engage in critical thinking and to conduct systematic research relevant to medical molecular genetics
