Prof Lorna Awo Renner of the Department of Paediatrics, School of Medicine and Dentistry has received The First Lady\u2019s Excellence Award for Medicine\/Health Care Delivery.<\/p>\n

Prof. Renner, was one of the eight women recognized by the First Lady on International Women\u2019s day for excellence in various fields.<\/p>\n

Her citation reads:<\/p>\n

\u201cA Professor, Doctor, Lecturer and Children\u2019s\u2019 advocate. Professor, you have made your mark as a lecturer at the University of Ghana School of Medicine & Dentistry and the head of the Paediatric Oncology Unit at the\u00a0Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.<\/p>\n

You have exhibited extreme dedication to the diagnosis, treatment and care of children with cancer in Ghana and are an active campaigner and advocate of the cause, working tirelessly to raise resources to support the treatment of childhood cancers.<\/p>\n

In the process you have managed to bring childhood cancers<\/p>\n

to the attention and funding of many\u201d<\/p>\n
