Nana Akua Anyidoho is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) and Director of the Centre for Social Policy Studies (CSPS), both at the University of Ghana. She has a BA in Psychology <\/em>from the University of Ghana and a PhD in Human Development and Social Policy<\/em> from Northwestern University.<\/p>\n

Her research is broadly in the areas of social policy<\/em><\/strong> and social development<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em> with a focus on how people interact with policy. Prof. Anyidoho brings an interdisciplinary perspective to her research; she has training in developmental psychology<\/em>, social policy<\/em>, and African Studies, <\/em>and in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.<\/p>\n

Prof. Anyidoho has published in development studies, gender studies, and African studies journals, and is on the editorial boards of African Affairs<\/em>, African Review of Economics and Financ<\/em>e, Ghana Studies,<\/em> and Policy Studies.<\/em><\/p>\n

She has carried out commissioned research for the Government of Ghana, the World Bank, UNECA, DFID, IDRC and Cadbury Schweppes, among others.  Between 2016 and 2017, she was the lead consultant for the development of a Social Development Strategy for Ghana’s National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), as part of a Long-Term National Development Plan for the Government of Ghana.<\/p>\n

Prof. Anyidoho serves on the Executive Committee of the Council for the Development of Social Research in Africa (CODESRIA), the Board of Directors of the African Studies Association (ASA-US), and the Governing Council of the University of Ghana.
