Abstract Information

We invite you to submit an abstract for consideration at the 1st Scientific Meeting and Exposition of the Ghanaian Genomics Association to be held in Accra, Ghana, from 17th to 19th December 2026. The meeting brings together experts in Genomic Medicine and Clinical Genetics, Cancer Genetics, Bioinformatics and Data Science, Computational Biology, Population Genetics, Public Health Genetics, Infectious Disease Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Epigenetics, Pharmacogenetics, Precision Medicine, Genetic Counselling, and Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues of Genetics. The meeting will be in person.  

  • The presenting author must be registered to attend the 1st GGA Scientific Meeting and Exposition.
  • The abstract must be submitted online using our submission portal.
  • The abstract must be written in English.
  • The content of the abstract must fall within one of the following thematic areas: Genomic Medicine and Clinical Genetics, Cancer Genetics and Genomics, Bioinformatics and Data Science, Computational Biology, Population Genetics, Public Health Genetics, Infectious Disease Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Epigenetics, Pharmacogenetics, Precision Medicine, Genetic Counselling, and Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues of Genetics.
  • The abstract must not be generated using AI tools.
  • Once the abstract is submitted, no further changes can be made to it.
  • The abstract should be written in English.
  • The abstract data should not have been previously published.
  • The presenting author must have registered for the meeting before submitting the abstract.
  • All co-authors must be listed and should have reviewed the abstract.
  • The content and structure of the abstract should have the following: Title, Background Information, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
  • Abstract content should not exceed 350 words.
  • Research Integrity: All abstracts are expected to conform to acceptable standards of scientific integrity with regard to experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • The use of artificial intelligence (AI): Artificial intelligence tools are not eligible for authorship. Presentation slides and posters must not be generated using AI tools.
  • Embargo: Data submitted in abstracts for the 1st Scientific Meeting and Exposition of the Ghanaian Genomics Association are embargoed from publication until after the meeting. 
  • Copyright: All abstracts, slide presentations and posters submitted for the 1st Scientific Meeting and Exposition of the Ghanaian Genomics Association are protected by copyright.

A panel of experts will review the abstracts. Abstracts will be reviewed and scored based only on their merit. An abstract may be selected for oral presentation or poster presentation.
